A Product of Partnership
JK Distributors was created through collaboration between the YMCA Training, Inc. in Boston, Training, Inc. National Association, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The Bank has generously provided the technical support to upgrade Training, Inc.'s existing hands-on, live business simulation to an on-line product, so that it can be used by other educational and workforce development organizations.
Our Project Team
This project is staffed by a team made up of business volunteers and consultants with experience in developing and marketing software applications as well as seasoned workforce professionals with experience running the simulated business and training staff facilitators. They will work with all the participating organizations' staff during this pilot.
Sheila Maguire has almost thirty years of experience in workforce development. As a practitioner, Sheila founded Training, Inc. at Essex County College (ECC) a community college serving downtown Newark in New Jersey. While at ECC, Sheila pioneered the development of sector-specific certificate programs that combined credit and noncredit courses providing both skills for immediate employment and the start of a college career. Elsa Bengel is an urban educator with more than 40 years of experience creating learning organizations and job training for both youth and adults in the US and overseas. Elsa founded YMCA Boston Training, Inc., where since 1984, over 4,000 graduates have launched new middle-skill careers.
